The Spay & Neuter Center Story
When city officials passed a mandatory spay & neuter law in 2009, Las Vegas residents were faced with a costly dilemma: shell out their hard-earned cash to pay for an expensive surgery or risk facing stiff fines for non-compliance. Clark County adopted a similar ordnance in 2010.
Recognizing this predicament, the Spay & Neuter Center of Southern Nevada was established in 2009 as an affordable community solution. As hospital owner and Las Vegas resident, my goal has been to drive down the cost of doing the right thing for our pets. Many owners don’t fully understand how sterilization and vaccinations can help their pets live a longer, healthier life. This knowledge void helped me realize that ‘community education’ had to become part of our core mission.
We have embraced the opportunity to fulfill the unmet needs of
practical pet owners. By reducing pet care cost and educating our
community, we endeavor to make preventative pet care affordable and
accessible to anyone
within travel distance to one of our hospitals. To cover the
essentials of responsible pet ownership, we extended our service
offerings to include a low-cost vaccine clinic and
microchipping.
How do we offer such deep discounts? Not by cutting corners!
Because we are highly specialized, our operations are streamlined
and extremely efficient. That’s how we minimize expenses and pass
on our savings to clients. A secondary
benefit of specialization is that we have become highly proficient
at our core competencies. Performing over 6,500 spay & neuter
procedures and administering nearly 50,000 vaccines every year, we
are truly the experts at what we do!
