CHAPTER 7.15 MICROCHIPPING OF DOGS AND CATS
Starting August 1st. 2024, all dogs and cats over the age of four months residing in Clark County must be implanted with microchip identification per this law. The microchip must be registered and kept up to date with the owners contact information. When there is a transfer of ownership the new owner must provide the microchip company with the new contact information within 30 days. This law applies to breeders and pet shops as well. Not abiding by this law could result in a citation or misdemeanor.
